Three programmes, each addressing a distinct stage of what an estate file requires

Our Approach

How we work through an estate file

Every engagement begins with the same question: what does the household hold, and which of those papers still carry a purpose? Before document sets can be prepared and before anything can be organised into an archive, the papers need to be separated by what they are for.

Our three programmes reflect three stages in that process. A family early in the clearance may need the Cabinet Sorting Session most. A family that has sorted broadly but now faces several office appointments in a short period may need Administrative Set Preparation. A family managing the full closure of a household from beginning to archive may need the Household Closure Programme.

All three are informational and organisational in scope. We do not offer legal advice, act as representatives before official bodies, or provide financial services. Where those are needed, we say so and indicate the kind of professional to approach.

Programme 01

Cabinet Sorting Session

RM 620  ·  Three-hour session at home or office

A session sorting a household's remaining papers into those with administrative use, those with family value and those that can be released — with the second group listed in a keepsake register so nothing meaningful is discarded during a busy period. Written for families clearing a home.

What is included

  • Labelled storage for each document group
  • Keepsake register cataloguing family-value records
  • List of records worth requesting replacements for
  • Note on which matters require an independent professional firm

Process steps

  1. 01Initial review of all papers present in the household
  2. 02Separation into administrative, family-value and releasable groups
  3. 03Labelling and storage of each group
  4. 04Keepsake register compiled from the family-value group
  5. 05Written note on any matters that will need professional attention

Programme 02

Administrative Set Preparation

RM 1,540  ·  Seven-week scope

Preparation of the document sets that offices commonly request, each assembled as a complete package with attested copies, translations where needed and a cover index — so a family member can present a set without assembling it under pressure. Suited to households facing several appointments in the same period.

What is included

  • Up to six fully prepared and attested document sets
  • Master index recording the contents of each set
  • Spare attested copies held in reserve
  • Translation coordination where the office requires it
  • Replacement service if a set is retained by an office

Process steps

  1. 01Review of the household's existing papers and identification of originals
  2. 02Identification of which offices will need sets and what each requires
  3. 03Coordination of attestations and translations as required
  4. 04Assembly of each set with cover index and reserve copies
  5. 05Delivery to family with master index and replacement notes

Standards

Shared across all three programmes

Written scope before we begin

Every engagement begins with a written description of what is included. Scope does not change without discussion.

Careful handling of personal information

Documents are accessed only as required. We do not retain copies after a programme concludes without written consent.

Attested copies verified against current requirements

We check what each relevant office currently requires before finalising any set.

Referrals noted plainly

When a matter falls outside informational and organisational support, we say so and indicate the appropriate professional category.

Archival-grade materials where used

Printed archives use acid-free storage and archival-grade labelling throughout.

Pace set by the family

We work to the schedule that suits the household. There is no fixed timeline imposed on a process that is already demanding.

Pricing

A brief conversation about where your family is in the process is usually enough to clarify which programme, if any, makes sense.
